214 Acknowledgments and Bibliographical Notes
at the beginning of my Fourth Meditation can be found in
Maurice O'Connor Drury, Selected Writings of Maurice O'Con-
nor Drury: On Wittgenstein, Philosophy, Religion and Psychia-
try (London, New York: Bloomsbury, 2017), p. 137. The quota-
tion from Eleanore Stump quoted in my Fourth Meditation is
from the article "Dante's Hell, Aquinas's Moral Theology, and
the Love of God," Canadian Journal of Philosophy vol. 16 (1986),
pp. 194-195. I confess, however, that I found it in the volume
by Kronen and Reitan listed above, and only went looking for
the article afterward to make sure I would not misrepresent it.
The epigraph to Part Three is drawn from S0ren Kierkegaard,
Soren Kierkegaard's Journals and Papers, vol. 6: Autobiographi-
cal, 1848-1855, ed. and trans. Howard V. Hong and Edna H.
Hong, with Gregor Malantschuk (Bloomington: Indiana Uni-
versity Press, 1978), p. 557.
All other translations in this text are my own, including
(naturally) all quotations from the New Testament.
