Cutting Instructions


From cream solid, cut the following for embroidery backgrounds:
4 – 5" x 7" rectangles for middle border
4– 5" squares for corners

From beige print, cut:
1 - 10½" square for quilt center

From red floral, cut:
4 – 1½" x 10½" strips for inner border
3 – 2¼" X WOF strips for binding

From purple floral, cut:
4 - 1½" squares for inner border cornerstones
4 – 2½" squares for outer border cornerstones

From light green check, cut:
4 - 4½" squares for middle border cornerstones

From each of the three green prints, cut:
1 – 1½" x WOF strip for middle border

From blue stripe, cut:
4 – 2½" x 20½" strips for outer borders

Material Requirements


5 " strip cream solid for embroidery background
11 " square beige print for quilt center

(^1) / 3 yard red floral for inner border and binding
5 " x 10" rectangle purple floral for inner and outer border cornerstones
5 " x 20" strip light green check for middle border cornerstones
2 " x WOF strip of three different green prints for middle border
6 " x WOF strip blue stripe for outer borders
(^7) / 8 yard fabric of choice for backing
Weeks Dye Works embroidery threads: cayenne, monkey grass, guacamole,
whiskey, mulberry, deep sea and molasses
Ecru size 8 perle cotton thread
Light-weight interfacing (optional)

Sewing Instructions



  1. Trace the beehive/garden design on the right side of each of the four
    cream solid 5" x 7" rectangles using your preferred method. Trace the bee in
    the circle (including the circle) on the 5" squares of cream solid.

  2. Iron the light-weight interfacing on the back of each piece if desired.

  3. Using the following chart, embroider the four border segments and
    cornerstone circles. All embroidery is sewn with two strands of floss.
