82 VegNews HOLIDAYS 2019

  1. The wake-up routine
Despite my best efforts, I really don’t enjoy
mornings. I’ve tried and tried to break my
night owl habit, but there’s something
    about the night that’s
    alluring and inspiring, and
that’s when I do my best
    reading and thinking. So
truthfully, I roll out of bed
    between 8am and 8:30am,
drink a glass of water, slap
    on some Coola Classic Face
    Organic Sunscreen SPF 30,
    and head to the gym.
    2. The workout
I book it to a HIIT (high-
    intensity interval training)
    class every morning
    because if I don’t, I’m not sure I’d surface
before noon. Sleep really is my top beauty
rule; I get eight hours every night, and I’m
    convinced my commitment to sleeping
and veganism is going to help me live
forever. And I would actually quite like that
because I’m haunted by how many books
    there are to read.

  2. The shower secret
When I get home, I shower quickly and use

LUSH’s Snow Fairy shower gel, because
I love smelling like My Little Pony. Every
man I’ve dated loathes this candy-scented
stuff, but I don’t care. LUSH only sells it at
Christmas, but I have gotten wise to this
annoying marketing gimmick and stock
up. However, if I overindulge and run out,
LUSH’s Rock Star or American Cream are
of the same sickeningly sweet variety.

  1. The hair program
After showering, if I haven’t washed my
hair, I spray it with IGK Hair’s Beach Club
Texture Spray, because my hair is fine and
wants to lay flat on my head. If I want my
hair to look fluffy and aerodynamic like an
anime character or my Persian cat, Puff, I
curl it with a tong and then finish it with
    Natulique’s Ultra Shine Finisher.

  2. The skincare
    I alternate between Dear Self’s I Am
    Gleaming moisturizer and Daily Face
    Cream by Brianna’s Handmade Soap,
because life is too short to pick one
