STEPH HOUGHTON has
turned up the heat ahead
of the first women’s
Manchester derby this
weekend by declaring:
“Let’s turn the city Blue”.
Houghton’s City host
local rivals United at the
Etihad tomorrow in the first
Women’s Super League
game between the two,
with the crowd expected to
exceed 20,000.
And although it will be
the first professional
encounter between the two
sides, England and Blues
skipper Houghton (above)
said: “I feel as though the
rivalry is already there.
“It’s exciting. All the talk
has been about a City and
United women’s derby and
we’ve finally got there.
“Even though there’s no
history there, it’s important
we start that history the

day? They’re pulled out of Preston.
Is that doing the best for Manchester
United? Do me a favour.”
Keane told OffTheBall.com
podcast: “People talk about
Ferguson’s man-management.

near the Premier League
under any other boss.
Referencing Darren’s
career as a manager, former
United skipper Keane took aim by
saying: “Darren was the manager at
Preston North End and lost his job.
“He had a couple of young players
on loan from Manchester United,

KEANE: I’M SURPRISED HE DIDN’T EMPLOY WIFE AT REDS
ROY KEANE has reignited his
bitter war of words with Sir Alex
Ferguson – by expressing
surprise the Manchester United
great did not employ his WIFE
at Old Trafford.
Keane lifted seven Premier League
titles and the Champions League
during his 12 years under Ferguson.
But Keane, who fell out with ex-
boss Fergie before leaving United
under a cloud in 2005, said: “People
said Ferguson always had the best
interests of Manchester United at
heart. His son Darren Ferguson won
a medal. He was very lucky.
