Step 5.
Dab the whole page to blot excess colour
using clean sections of a scrunched up
paper towel. Lay the pages out to dry for
several hours.

Step 6.
Divide 500g of petal paste into six balls.
Leave one white and colour the other five
using each of the colours.

Step 7.
Once coloured, press, slice and chop each
into tiny pieces with the scalpel.

Step 8.
Seal pieces into bags to prevent drying
out whilst chopping up the other colours.

Step 9.
Mix the pieces together in a bowl
breaking up any that have clumped
together.

Step 10.
Spread between greaseproof paper.
Press first with the heel of your hand to
compress then roll with a rolling pin to
create an even mat of colourful confetti.

Step 11.
Separately roll enough petal paste to
cover the confetti mat then glue and
press onto the mat making sure it is
thoroughly adhered.

Step 12.
Using the bow tie template, cut the newly
backed confetti mat with the scalpel.
Make a mark first with a light cut then
follow with a deeper cut.

Step 13.
Glue the centre point of the bow tie and
gently fold the ends into the centre. Use
the second bow tie template to add the
centre ribbon.

Step 14.
Twist two little pieces of greaseproof
paper, insert into the tie loops and leave
to dry.

Step 15.
Using the glasses template, cut out using
the same incision method as before
taking care to cut vertically through the
colour mat.

Step 16.
Cut and remove the lens sections while
the colour mat supports the rest of the
frame. The glasses are delicate while soft
but more robust when dry!
