Leah Wood and A lexa Chung each hosted

a spark ling dinner for London’s glitterati

One balmy evening in the West End, a pair of starry

celebrations took place in two magical venues. Blacks, the

atmospheric Soho townhouse, was the scene for a dinner

given by Leah Wood to toast her new jewellery designs with

her nearest and dearest. As dusk fell, her mother Jo, Poppy

Delevingne, Jodie Kidd and Alice Temperley sat down for

spinach and coconut curry and exuberant conversation.

Over in Mayfair, Alexa Chung had invited a glamorous

crowd to Harry’s Bar to sample Bird in Hand’s latest

vintages. Serenaded by a string quartet, the guests, who

included Erdem Moralioglu, the designer of Chung’s

exquisite turquoise dress, tucked into an Italian supper of

burrata, scallops and walnut tortellini, followed by platters

of the glossiest cherries: a feast fit for a king – which was no

doubt appreciated by one pet dog who had accompanied his

mistress in her handbag. EP
