ASMIR BEGOVIC is launching his Goalkeeping
Academy next month to help as many
youngsters play football as possible.
Bournemouth keeper Begovic (below) has set up
free sessions for seven to 16-year-olds at the ACS
International School in Cobham, Surrey, along with
Chelsea academy coach Jack Hadley and highly-
regarded keeper coach David Coles.
Begovic originally launched a similar
project in Bosnia and is one of several
Premier League stars who deserve great
credit for trying to give something back.
Similarly, and no matter their own issues,
Mesut Ozil and Paul Pogba regularly
engage and help young fans.
Canaries are no
longer in the pink
NEWLY-PROMOTED
Norwich City have made
a nice start to life back in
the Premier League –
and are clearly not
having to rely on gaining
an extra edge on
opponents.
Last season, the
Canaries got headlines
for painting the away
dressing room at Carrow
Road “deep pink”, a
colour which one sports
psychologist claimed
lowered testosterone
levels and had a calming
effect on opponents.
But the club have now
gone back to a more
traditional colour in the
away dressing room for
the Premier League
season, despite it
working a treat in their
promotion campaign.
The Premier League
does have rules on
dressing rooms. But,
when contacted, Norwich
declined to say whether
the paint job was their
own choice or if it was
down to the Premier
League.
Canaries boss Daniel
Farke and sporting
director Stuart Webber
have gained a reputation
as being switched on –
and pink worked in
the Championship, but
it is not needed in the
top flight.
ANDY
WOODWARD’S
autobiography is
a powerful,
harrowing read
about football’s
shocking sex
abuse scandal
and is
expertly and
compassionately
told by Tom

It is written
brilliantly and
clearly, it will
surely be turned
into a film and
there is bound
to be interest
from TV
companies.
QUAL PLAY-OFF 2ND LEG:
WOLVES WIN 5-3 ON AGG
RED-HOT RAUL’S
GOLDEN TOUCH
Mexico striker fires Nuno’s side into group stages
RAUL JIMENEZ terrorised
Torino again to fire Wolves
into today’s draw for the
Europa League group stages.
Jimenez notched in Turin and
netted again against the Italians
as Wolves progressed in the
club’s first European adventure
since 1980.
They survived Torino’s bold,
aggressive start before Mexico
striker Jimenez clinically bagged
a 30th-minute opener.
His first-time, angled shot
was his seventh this term.
Torino skipper Andrea Belotti
headed in after the break to give
the Italians hope. But Leander
Dendoncker made it 2-1 just 103
seconds later in the 58th minute
with a side-footed shot.
It immediately deflated the
visitors and left boss Nuno
Espirito Santo (below) to
deservedly lead his team into
the group stages. Now
ambitious Wolves, and their
wealthy Chinese owners Fosun,
will look to make their mark on
the continent once more.
Torino showed a
physical edge from the
start in a bid to unsettle
the Premier League
hosts. Wing-back Ola
Aina had a shot deflected
behind, Daniele Baselli volleyed
wide and Tomas Rincon missed
when he should really have hit
the target.
Adama Traore then nearly
fired Wolves ahead after a
blistering run and right-foot
shot, which Salvatore Sirigu did
well to save. Wanderers took the
lead on the night in the 30th
minute. Traore caused havoc
again down the right and his
low cross to the near post was
steered in first time by Jimenez.
The move was further
evidence of Traore’s exciting
evolution from an erratic winger
into a devastating wing-
back. Torino tried to strike
back in the 37th minute
when Lorenzo De
Silvestri put over a
tantalising cross which
Simone Zaza headed down
for Rui Patricio to save.
After the break, the home
keeper made an even better
one-handed stop to claw out
Baselli’s free-kick.
Baselli’s next dead-ball
routine was more productive as
Belotti rose to power in a header
in the 57th minute. But Wolves
were quickly back in front, 5-3
on aggregate, when Diogo Jota
was denied and Dendoncker
slotted home in the rebound off
the post.
Wolves then professionally
saw the game out with skipper
Conor Coady imperious in
defence. England boss Gareth
Southgate continues to
overlook the Scouser but Nuno
certainly appreciates him.
Coady and Wolves will now
be flying the flag abroad in the
group stage.

ROMERO: REDS WANT A REPEAT
BY DAVID ANDERSON
SERGIO ROMERO claims Manchester
United are determined to repeat their
2017 Europa League success in this
season’s competition.
The Red Devils are in pot one for
today’s draw with Arsenal and the
other top seeds, such as Sevilla, Porto
and Roma, and the keeper says they
will not take the Europa League lightly.
United qualified for the Champions
League by beating Ajax 2-0 in the 2017
final in Stockholm and Romero (left),
who played all nine knockout games
that season, said: “We have a great
team, a great manager and everyone
wants to do well. This club, because of
its history, deserves to win always.
“It will be a challenge to try to repeat
the 2017 victory, but this club always
needs to do well, wherever we play.”
