Ah, the modern bride. here’s the Duchess
of Rutland’s gorgeous niece Katie Watkins
on her wedding day last week. And, yes, those
are her Spanx on show. But don’t think I’m
revealing a private snap of the stunning, leggy
bride, 24. She shared it on Instagram after
marrying Will Lankston, dashing scion of the
timpson family – think shoe repairs – at Radnor
hills in the Welsh Borders. ‘the day I became
Mrs Lankston #dreamday,’ she wrote alongside
this delightfully candid snap.

MY LIPS ARE

SEALED, BUT...

WhIch star caused tV producer
trevor engleson to swear off
dating actresses for life? An
impeccable source says trevor,
42, imposed the rule after a
‘terrible experience with an ex’.
the actress, he said, was
‘mercurial, dramatic, shouty and
difficult’ and would demand to be
in his films, once going ballistic
when he didn’t use her. Of course
trevor – now married – has
broken his own rule once or twice,
and it would be impolite to
suggest just which actress he was
referring to. Interestingly, he was
once married to Meghan Markle.

She’ S always been proud of her figure – but
did Posh Spice really need to show off just
how thin her waist is by wearing a necklace as a
belt in France last week? Talk about rubbing it in
for the rest of us who’ve spent the past few months
guzzling the toffs’ favourite summer tipple, Whis-
pering Angel rosé.
Victoria posted this snap on Instagram and wrote:
‘When a necklace is the perfect belt,’ adding three
clapping emojis just to hammer the point home.
We get it VB, you are very pleased with your-
self. Someone pass me another rosé, quick.

FRIeNDS of the Duke and Duchess
of Sussex fear the pair have acceler-
ated plans to leave Britain – after
apparently snubbing Prince Charles’s
plans for them to take on an estate
in herefordshire.
Land had been earmarked for harry
as part of a long-standing scheme by
the Prince of Wales to help his son
create a country estate for his family
near the Welsh Borders.
But his second son has so far shown
little interest in making the move,
raising fears among friends that the
couple may be preparing to head
abroad – with LA high on the list
of possibilities.
A source tells me: ‘In the 1980s, it
was decided baby harry would one
day have a family and want to build
an estate. Charles has discussed here-
fordshire, thinking he’d love it.
‘Perhaps back then they were
expecting harry would marry a
Sloaney nursery teacher who would
love nothing more than running an
estate. Fast forward to 2019, and that
dream seems deeply old-fashioned,
not to mention unrealistic.’
how times have changed. These
days, Royal life – for the Sussexes at
least – often consists of meaningful
Instagram posts, private jets to Ibiza
and weekends in France with pop
stars who decorate their homes with
Versace wallpaper.
It has long been thought that the
pair might at some time in the future
relish a new life in LA.
But friends suspect those plans have
been fast-forwarded following the
recent media storm that has engulfed
the couple. Some believe they have
already secretly visited LA, Meghan’s
birthplace and home to her mum
Doria who, as I revealed recently, is a
rock to the couple and helped choose

a new nanny for baby Archie. After
all, in LA, even the most high-profile
celebrities can go about their busi-
ness relatively unnoticed and private
jets are normal.
Friends say Meghan and harry are
in ‘victim mode’ and do not feel they
need to change their actions, but
rather, change the people around
them and possibly even the country
they call home. They
have no wish, for
the moment, to take
on a stuffy shoot-
ing estate.
Doria would see
more of Archie in
LA and is said to want
to broaden his hori-
zons to help him
live a normal,
modern life.
