A NEW VISION

The One Vision has a trendy design, sans the overpowering
brilliance of current gradient-design phones. The device is
protected by a 2.5D cover glass at the front and a 3D Gorilla Glass 3
at the back with IP52 certification for dust and splash resistance.
The phone uses a USB Type-C and offers a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The One Vision is powered by an Exynos 9609 Octa-core processor
that has been designed for AI-powered signal processing with a
dual camera setup. It runs the Android One variant of Android 9 Pie
version, which means it will receive security updates for three
years, along with two major OS updates. It features 4 GB RAM and
128 GB of internal storage with microSD card support up to 512 GB.
The One Vision uses a 6.3-inch LTPS (Low-Temperature Poly-
Silicon) IPS display with 432 PPI pixel density. The display provides
FHD+ resolution (1080 x 2520 pixels).
The phone uses a dual main camera setup with a 48MP primary
unit along with a 5MP, f/1.7 secondary unit for depth information.
The camera utilises Quad Pixel technology, which combines four
pixels to provide an output of 12 megapixels. Videos can be recorded
at up to UHD quality at 30fps. It provides Slow motion, Timelapse,
Hyperlapse and Youtube Live Stream options. The phone has a
25MP, f/2.0 front camera, also featuring Quad Pixel technology,
resulting in a 6MP image. The front camera offers up to FHD quality
videos at 30fps along with slow-motion movies at 120fps. The
camera performed quite well with the images exhibiting good
sharpness and low noise. Low-light performance was pretty good
and portraits were impressive with pleasing bokeh effect.
The One Vision is powered by a 3500 mAh, non-removable battery
and Motorola bundles a 15W TurboPower charger with the device.
The charger tops up the battery from zero in under two hours,
which is rather slow. However, the battery charge lasted for more
than a day on moderate use, which almost makes up for the slow
charging. The One Vision is not one of those powerful phones in the
market, but considering other mid-level devices, this phone did
not disappoint. We did not experience any lag in performance on
moderate use and the device could handle graphic intensive games
such as Asphalt 9, though not smoothly as the higher-priced
competitors.
The Motorola One Vision is a good option in the sub-20k range,
with a capable camera and good overall experience. We wish the
phone was less slippery, and the cameras less protruding.
