Arabian Horse World – August 2019

(sharon) #1

year-old class, but in reverse
order. The class winner, Bahia
Alfabia (ZT Marwteyn x ZT
Shakgeromit) of Al Shahania
Stud, Qatar, got Silver, while Gold
went by unanimous decision to
Ajman Stud’s Italian-bred
Basandra Settimocielo (Ajman
Moniscione x MA Scarlet by
Hadidi), who had been second in
the class by just a fraction of a
point. A classic beauty in pure
white, Basandra Settimocielo
bears a great resemblance to
her maternal grandsire, the
straight Egyptian World
Champion Hadidi.
Ajman Stud also took Gold in
the stallion championship with
Antaris OS (RFI Farid x Justina),
bred by Osterhof Stud in
Germany. He is one of the oldest
RFI Farid get, but here again,
takes more strongly after his
maternal grandsire, WH Justice.
Silver was awarded to another
classic white beauty, Mountassar
Al Zobair, a son of Khidar and
grandson of Ansata Sinan, and
the only medal winner not from
one of the “big three” dynasties of
Gazal Al Shaqab, Padrons Psyche,
and Bey Shah. His dam is by Gazal
Al Shaqab, but Mountassar is all
Khidar in
phenotype. This
was the second
title in the show for
his owners, Al
Jawaher Stud.
And, last but not
least, the only title
that went to a
European-bred
and owned horse
was the Bronze
Stallion
Championship.
This was awarded
to the impressive
bay Calateon
(Vitorio TO x
Calatea by
Ekstern), bred in
Poland and owned
by Halsdon
Arabians of England, who also
had the best movement score of
all the stallions.

owned by Ajman Stud, UAE.
