(National Geographic (Little) Kids) #1

There are gasps among the attendees. Eve turns to Olivia.
She has tears streaming down her cheeks.

VILLANELLE (CONT'D)
But one evening, as I was putting my
clothes back on, I summoned up the
courage to tell her what I really
felt.

Villanelle looks directly at Eve.

VILLANELLE (CONT'D)
I said “Stop running. You will
never escape me.” And she never did.
Until a few days ago. I will miss
you, my love.

Eve looks as though she is ready to explode and collapse at
the same time. Villanelle steps off the podium and softly

touches the shoulder of a stunned priest. Her heels click as
she walks to the back of the church. People begin to mumble

to each other. Villanelle opens the door and exits.

Olivia stands and addresses the attendees, trying to break

the tension.

OLIVIA
Would anyone else like to share a
memory?

Eve, unable to contain herself, gets up to leave. She has to
shuffle down the narrow pew past many other people.

OLIVIA (CONT'D)
(whispering)
Eve! Please! Don’t.

Eve glances at Olivia with a possessed look in her teary

eyes, then heads for the door.

EXT. LARGE CHURCH - GREENWICH - MOMENTS LATER

Eve looks over the grounds. She sees Villanelle standing in
the cemetery next to the church and takes off running towards
her.

Eve hits the grass and her heels start to sink into the dirt.

She throws the shoes off her feet and continues to give
chase. Villanelle reaches the crest of a hill then takes off
out of sight down the other side. When Eve gets to the

crest, Villanelle is gone.
