BROWNS

2018 RECORD: 7- 8 - 1

The biggest move of the NFL’s offseason came when
the Browns traded for Giants wideout Odell Beckham Jr.
OBJ was the 2014 Offensive Rookie of the Year and he’s
kept producing ever since, racking up three Pro Bowl
appearances in five seasons. In 12 games last year, he
had 77 catches for 1,052 yards and six touchdowns
playing in a shaky Giants offense. He also threw for
106 yards and two touchdowns. (Is there anything he
can’t do?) Beckham will pair with former LSU teammate
Jarvis Landry, RB Nick Chubb, and sophomore
QB Baker Mayfield to create what figures to be one of
the most explosive offenses in the league.

The defense, however, needs work. The Browns were
30th in yards allowed last year, but they have talent.
DE Myles Garrett, the top pick of the 2017 draft, was
named to his first Pro Bowl after racking up 131/2 sacks.
Another deal with the Giants netted Cleveland DE Olivier
Vernon, who had seven sacks a year ago. The Browns also
used their first four draft picks on defensive players, led
by LSU CB Greedy Williams. (That’s a pretty great name
for a guy whose job is to try to take the ball away from
opponents.) He will team with Denzel Ward, who made
the Pro Bowl as a rookie, to give Cleveland almost as
many big-play threats on D as on offense.
