FAYE’SSADSPLIT

I

t’s always sad to hear that
people have split up, and the
news that my former colleague
Faye Brookes and her fiancé
Gareth Gates [left] have called
off their wedding was a shame,
especially as they’ve been
together for a while. They briefly
split last year and got back
together but sometimes things
aren’t meant to be. I sent Faye a
text to let her know I’m thinking
of her and I said I hoped she
was doing okay. As sad as it is,
it’s better to split before walking
down the aisle with someone
than marrying someone knowing
it’s not the right thing to do.
Sometimes the bravest and best
thing you can do is walk away
from a relationship.

‘IT’SASLICE

OFHEAVEN!’

S

cott, Polly and I had a
wet week in Pitlochry
in Scotland visiting his
family. It honestly is a
slice of heaven – even in the
rain – and it was lovely to get
Polly outside in the fresh air
[above and above right]. We
also stayed at a Scandinavian-
themed village in Aviemore,
which had water slides and
a roller coaster, and Pol and
Scott went on all of them
while I held the coats!
Scott and I got outside,
too [top right]. I’m running a
ten-mile race in September; it’s
The Paras’ 10 for the Parachute
Regiment, which Scott is in, so
I needed to get some training
under my belt. I’m raising
money for charity, too, which
you can find here – http://www.
justgiving.com/fundraising/
anja-mcanespie. We did hill
running, bike rides and kettle
bell sessions! The scenery is
breathtaking in Perthshire,
so running there was a treat.
During the six-mile run, it
turned into
thick forest

  • it was like
    something
    out of The
    Blair Witch
    Project and
    I got a bit
    spooked!
    I turned to
    Scott a bit
    scared and
    asked: ‘Are

there bears around here?’ He
laughed... luckily he was there
to protect me!
I’m feeling more positive
about the run. I did a 10km
race a couple of years ago
and I’m not getting any
younger, but it turns out
I’m as fit as I was then! I
love training with Scott;
he’s patient with me and
also very physically fit, so I
respect what he has to say
when it comes to fitness.
The trip was family
orientated so Scott and I
didn’t have much time on
our own, aside from when we
were out training, but we’ll get
our own time soon as we’re
off on two holidays in the next
couple of weeks – I can’t wait!
I couldn’t wait to see
Teddy when I got back to
Manchester. Emilie sent me
pictures [below] of him while
we were away, he’s turning
into a right chubber! He’s
teething at the moment, bless
him. I‘m surprised by how
much I missed
him while I’ve
been away.
Perhaps it’s
because he
lives with me,
but I feel like
I’ve had my
own child – the
love is exactly
the same. It’s
an amazing
feeling!
