This Felted Satchel designed by Jen Frederick is soft felted alpaca suitable for beginner felters.

150 grams alpaca batts or

tops (or 50 grams wool and

100 grams alpaca)

Acid Dyes for wool colours

shown are Kraft Kolour

Tarragon and Sage

2 balls 8 ply DK 100% alpaca

  1 large feature button for
  fastener
  2 small buttons for the
  adjustable strap
  2 skeins embroidery thread
  Sewing thread

Tools:

1 pair each of 12mm, 7mm and

4.5mm knitting needles

1 weaving needle

1 large sewing needle

Large safety pins (2)

Scissors

Old towels to protect the table

Bubble wrap

Spray bottle with hot soapy

water

Liquid dish detergent

Rolling pin and sponge/

scourer
