Although Dave has restored bikes
over the years, he fully admits that
he can’t weld or do electrics, plus,
being self-employed, his biggest
problem is that he has very little
spare time. He adds, “It would
take me years to do myself and I’m
not that patient!”
Not only is Dave not patient, he
has—as he says himself—too many
ideas. “I think I could build half
a dozen bikes with all the parts

Although Dave says that, at
first, he’d intended his Enfield
to look like the bike that Craig
had built, things soon progressed
apace. “That was my original plan,
just to build that beautiful bobber.
Then my mind went into overdrive
and I found myself building
different versions of it with all the
bits I’ve collected. So I decided,
