little, became more and more
important. I loved that. It’s my
favorite introduction of any
character I’ve played.”
First Friend In
The Cast: “Aaron Spears
[Justin], because I worked
almost exclusively with him
for, like, my first three episodes
or so. Aaron was so nice to me.
He was explaining how soap
operas work and what
the schedule is and not to
worry about the amount
of dialogue. He didn’t
know I had been doing
soaps years before that
— and why would he? I
was just grateful to have
somebody be nice to me
and take me under their
wing. About a week later,
he found out that I had
been on ONE LIFE TO
LIVE [ex-Schuyler] and
GENERAL HOSPITAL
[ex-Dillon] and he was
like, ‘Why didn’t you
tell me? I’m so embar-
rassed!’ and I was like, ‘How would you
know? Thank you!’ ”
First On-Screen Kiss: “It
was with Kim [Matula, then-Hope] in
the Forrester guesthouse. Liam had just
rescued Hope from a mob of paparazzi,
and he whisked her away and she was like,
‘I know somewhere we can go.’ She’d
just broken up with Oliver because he
accidentally had sex with her mother. You
know how that goes; that’s a little hard to
get past! At the guesthouse, Liam opened
up about his own mother, and I remem-
ber it was directed by Mike Stich, who is
retired now. Mike always
had complex blocking and
he had me say this mono-
logue while I was walking
upstage, around the couch,
all the way to the other side
and then circle back down
while Kim was just sitting
there. Then I said, ‘Well,
I’m gonna go,’ but I came
back and kissed her.”
First On-Screen
Wedding: “It must
have been Aspen. What I
remember most was it was really cold there
and I felt really bad for Jacqui because I was
wearing a jacket and she was in this little
mini wedding dress and boots.”
First B&B Emmy Night: “It
was pretty awkward, actually, because I was
on B&B but I had a nomination from ONE
LIFE TO LIVE, and I remember consulting
with [show publicist] Eva [Basler] saying,
‘Who am I supposed to sit with? I’m nomi-
nated for this other show but I’m with you
guys.’ And Eva was like, ‘Honey, you’re with
us.’ I didn’t win — and I am very proud to say
that all three of my Emmys are for B&B.”
