First Audition:

“My first audition for

DAYS was pretty hilarious,

because it was for the role of

Rafe Hernandez. I didn’t know the

known it was Rafe Hernandez, I think this

German-Swedish guy would have probably

stayed home. I auditioned along with Galen

Gering [Rafe]. I remember Wes Ramsey

[Peter, GH; ex-Owen] being there. All we

knew from the scripts is that it was Sami’s

new love interest.”

First Day: “The reason I remember it

so well is, my first day of work at DAYS,

my family and I were evacuated out of our

house in Porter Ranch due to fires. I was in

the shower getting ready to go to work for my

first day of taping when my wife knocked on

the shower door and said, ‘There’s a fireman

downstairs who says we have to get out of

here.’ I had to pack my family up. Then they

drove one way, and I drove toward Burbank

First Scene:

“It was with Deidre

Hall [Marlena] and

Drake Hogestyn

[John]. It was the

first reveal of Brady

canvas. The door opened,

and I remember being so mys-

no idea who I was. I was not aware that John

was going through some mental issue where

his memory was compromised. I thought he

was playing it oddly because he hadn’t seen

his son in so long.”

First Costume: “My first wardrobe

was interesting in the sense that I was kind

of dressed as a lumberjack. I had a blue and

yellow flannel shirt on. I thought it was such

an odd choice for Brady. But given that he

had been in Vienna doing manual labor to get

through his addiction, maybe he had been

wearing a lot of flannel while he was out

chopping wood trying to get past his cocaine

issues.”

First Friendly Gesture: “James

Scott [ex-EJ] came up to me in the hallway,

shook my hand and said, ‘Hello, I’m James.’

I said, ‘Hi, I’m Eric.’ Then he said, ‘Listen, I

heard about your house. If you need a place

to stay, I want you to bring your family over

to my place.’ I had just met the guy, and he

offered up his home to me in case I needed

somewhere to go. I’ll always remember that.”

First Co-Star Compliment:

“Deidre giving me a compliment my first

day, which I’ll always remember. We

rehearsed our first or second scene, she

looked at me and said, ‘Oh, boy. This guy

knows what he’s doing. I better step up my
