readership, recommended to them it will be.
Except here. Once a year for the past few years,
we’ve allowed ourselves the rather indulgent
opportunity of simply listing our 50 favourite
c a r s on s a le. L a s t t i me , w e k e p t it t o c a r s c o s t i n g
le s s t h a n £ 5 0, 0 0 0, but t o d ay t he l i s t i s onc e mor e
open to all comers. Deliciously, at least for us,
there are no rules here, nor even any guidelines as
to what should qualify. If there are fewer than 49
ot he r c a r s on s a le w e pr e fe r, it ’s i n. I f not , it ’s out.
It’s a list governed by the gut feeling of the road
test team, the editor and me, and that really is it.
