Wing walkways and anti-dazzle panel were masked and airbrushed with an extremely dark grey. A
gloss coat was then applied to prepare the model for the decals.Decals were those supplied with the kit and though a bit tough, they did eventually settle
down well.A dark wash was applied to the panel lines and here the fi nished prop can be seen, painted and
decalled ready to attach.The fi nished undercarriage was glued in place; this fi ts very positively, as do the centre

aluminium paint was affected by the
Microscale setting solution – this can be seen
on some of the wing stencils and has left a
darker area around them. I broke one of the
undercarriage legs while fi tting it. The wing
split while I was fi tting the resin gun bay,
impatience on my part trying to force it
instead of fi ling a bit more. So not a
catalogue of disasters, but there are
a few points there to learn from so
I’ll be making a note of those. ■
