Download and install the Parallels Desktop app from
https://www.parallels.com/uk. The free trial version is good for
14 days. The Standard Version is good enough for what we’re doing
here, but by all means, check to see if the Pro or Business versions are
more suited to your overall needs. Install and launch Parallels Desktop.
3
Click Continue, and Parallels searches your Mac for possible
operating system installation images. The iso you dragged to
your desktop is quickly found; it’s listed as Debian GNU/Linux, as this
is what Raspian is based on. Double click on it, choose a name and a
location for the virtual machine, and click Create.
2
As you can see, we’ve already installed some virtual machines. If
you’re new to Parallels, though, the Control Center window will
be blank. Click the + button in Control Center’s top right corner; the
Installation Assistant window opens. Click the middle option, ‘Install
Windows or another OS from a DVD or image file’.
4
Debian GNU Linux with Raspberry Pi Desktop installs and opens,
as you can see here. Follow the on-screen steps to set it up. If you
wish, you can click the green gumdrop in the top left of the window to
take it full screen, just like you can with a Mac app or a Finder window.
Press Shift-CMD-F to exit full screen.
