17 NOVEMBER
Military Vehicles Day
Brooklands Museum in Weybridge,
Surrey, hosts an array of more than 100
vehicles charting the history of human
conflict. Visitors will be able to watch
some of them put through their paces
on the 4x4 course at Mercedes-Benz
World, while back at the museum site,
the steep incline of ‘Test Hill’ awaits. The
event will be brought to life by a number
of wartime re-enactment groups.

3 NOVEMBER
The Hidden Horticulturists
Head for the Royal Botanic Garden
Edinburgh for what promises to be
a fascinating talk by Fiona Davison,
author of The Hidden Horticulturists


  • The Untold Story of the Men who
    Shaped Britain’s Gardens. She will trace
    the stories of forgotten gardeners from
    Chiswick to Bolivia, uncovering tales of
    fraud and scandal along the way, and
    reveal a link between the book and the
    lecture venue.

you browse more than 50 stalls filled
with fine foods and hand-crafted
products. Take your walking boots along
and you can also enjoy a relaxing walk
in the adjacent Hem Heath Woods.

23 NOVEMBER
Christmas Gift & Food Fair
Seek out that perfect festive gift
within the magnificent surroundings
of Ripon Cathedral in Yorkshire. More
than 100 local traders will be selling
seasonal treats, while visitors have
the opportunity to visit Santa in his
grotto and enjoy turkey sandwiches
and mulled wine. This is the perfect
event to get you in the mood for the
Christmas season.

8-10 NOVEMBER
North Wales Choral Festival
Venue Cymru, in the seaside resort of
Llandudno, is the venue for this
celebration of music. A number of
competitions are held over the course
of the weekend, while the Festival
Celebration Concert gives choirs the
chance to relax and enjoy themselves.
Featuring performances from male- and
female-voice choirs, barbershop-style
groups and more, this is an event for
lovers of numerous vocal styles.

World of Wedgwood
Artisan Market
On the second Sunday of the month
