a same-price ‘Lounge’ variant of the
560 with twin settees.

NIGHT-TIME
The French bed measures a decent 6ft 2in long x
4ft 1in, tapering to 3ft 1in at its narrowest.
It has the usual Duvalay mattress (an Apollo
Luxe model here), is set at a good height and
is served by reading lamps with dimmer
controls, corner ledges, a large side window
and a rooflight. I’m only 5ft 6in tall and could
just about sit upright to watch TV, but ideally
at least one reading lamp needs to be relocated.
A pleated divider offers bedroom privacy and

there’s a full-length wardrobe,
with shelving, adjacent to the
washroom door.

KITCHEN
Ste p d ow n f r o m t h e lo u n ge a nd
you’re in the kitchen. The main
unit here is along the offside with
a full Thetford cooker (dual-fuel hob,
separate oven and grill) set to the right. The
microwave is directly over the hob – not an ideal
location for some, but it’s at a height that will be
convenient for most adult users.
A stainless steel sink is set into a Fenix worktop
and there’s a removable plastic drainer along with
a handy fixed ledge beyond the sink. The main
storage is under the sink area. Access is double-
doored but the Alde boiler and slot for the drainer
means space is compromised while the cutlery
drawer isn’t large either. A double-doored upper
locker has racking for cups and plates.

DAYTIME
The main living area is up front, where the lounge
comprises a half-dinette double travel seat behind
the driver and a short, inward-facing settee
behind the cab passenger. Captain’s style cab seats
are height-adjustable and feature twin armrests,
with the usual swivel action to allow them to be
part of the lounge. The table should suffice for
two at meal time but if you have additional guests,
a small extension slots into place.
This area is all set up for TV watching, with
bracket holder and sockets on the bulkhead
behind the driver’s seat. Speakers for the stereo
system and twin bullet lights are overhead, all
set in a plastic ceiling console around a Skyview
opening sunroof that really helps with daylight
and ventilation. Dometic double-glazed acrylic
windows come with concertina blinds,
flyscreens and lined curtains.
The soft furnishing scheme is called Darwin
and most would agree that it both looks and
