@ _M U M M YM O I
Putting an outfit together for me is a little moment of
escapism, a time to decide which version of me do I
want to be today? Glam, street, chic, sporty – sounds a
bit like a run-down of the spice girls but hopefully you
get what I mean. Fashion choices are unique to every
individual. What floats my boat won’t necessarily float
yours but that doesn’t mean we can’t appreciate and
applaud each other’s choices. I love telling other
women they look great, I’m always stopping people to
pay them a compliment.

What do you love about fashion?
Which item can you not leave the house
without?
Oohhhhh I would say a handbag. Handbags are the
item I am most fussy about choosing. I can’t really go
shopping for a handbag, I have to just see one and fall
in love with it whether that be a mulberry or a £ 1
charity shop string shopper!
Where do you most like to shop?
I love a treasure hunt so one of my favourite places to
shop is TK Maxx. There’s no better mix of clothing,
accessories and homeware out there in my opinion. I
can literally spend hours mooching around and come
out with the wildest selection of items. I regularly go
on a “charity shop” shop, so I will visit a local town or
village and only go in the charity shops. The best
places I’ve found so far for charity shop shopping are
Tonbridge, West Malling and Canterbury.
Tips for summer fashion as a mum...
A big slouchy bag is essential, one you can cram all
your ‘mum crap’ into but will still look stylish. Go for
something with a bright bold pattern or a cool slogan.
I always pop a clutch bag or pouch inside mine to hold
all the valuables (car keys/purse/phone etc). On hot
sunny days you will always find me wearing a
headband, I have got a huge collection and they keep
my look fresh and free from flyaway frizzy hair. You
don’t need to spend a fortune on them, I get most of
mine from e_bay.
