Malaysia Airlines’ recent ‘MH Fund My Balik Kampung’ social media campaign turned into a heartwarming story for the ages.
Malaysians around the world sent in their stories and encouraged friends to vote for them, in hopes of being sent home for the Eid
holiday by the airline. Fahdli Jamaluddin’s submission won the hearts of voters, and he was chosen as the winner. The original plan was
to surprise his family in his hometown of Alor Setar, Kedah. However, Fadhli got into a motorcycle accident on the day the winner was
announced, leaving him with a fractured leg. Despite the unfortunate incident, Malaysia Airlines insisted on reuniting the family for Eid,
and Fahdli was able to fulfil his wish of surprising his family members and spending time with them in his hometown. The video can be

Strategic Partnership
Malaysia Airlines and Singapore Airlines (SIA) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding
(MoU) to significantly step up cooperative ties. Under the terms of the MoU, the two airlines will
explore a wide-ranging partnership in various areas, including an expansion of codeshare flights
beyond Singapore-Malaysia routes and enhancements on their frequent flyer programmes. Other
potential cooperative efforts could involve cargo, maintenance, repair and overhaul services. A
formal agreement will be finalised in the coming months and will also include SIA subsidiaries
SilkAir and Scoot, as well as Firefly, MAB’s sister airline.
