Project tester Monique Jacobs used a variety of fl oss
colors to make her version of Night Owl. “I stayed in
a Halloween-theme color palette, but used diff erent
colors for diff erent elements of the design,” Monique
says. “I used a purple print that has small metallic silver
stars as the border to keep with the eerie vibe.”
Fabrics are from the Starlet Basics collection for
Blank Quilting (blankquilting.com).
4. Topstitch in the ditch along
border seams to create a flange. Fill
pincushion cover with ground walnut
