frankie diary! frankie

calendar! yay!
Here’s a scary thought: it won’t be long till Christmas
carols are the soundtrack to your grocery shopping.
Yep, the year is whizzing by at an alarming rate, but the
good news is our 2020 frankie diaries (rrp $29.95) and
calendars (rrp $32.95) are now available for pre-order.
The 2020 diary is rather special. It was created with the
help of Magpie Goose, who brought together a collection
of wonderful Indigenous artists from remote communities
across Australia. As you organise your days, months
and year, you’ll also connect with First Nations people,
cultures and stories, and just a wee part of our country’s
rich, ancient history. (Did we mention you’ll score a set of
free gift cards if you pre-order the diary?) Meanwhile, the
2020 calendar will deliver 12 months’ worth of goodness
from the safety of your wall, featuring ever-so-lovely
illustrations from artists like Sarah Walsh, Jeannie Phan
and local lady Ellen Porteus. Want to get your mitts on
them before they sell out? Head over to frankie.com.

house on a hill
We’d like to think a family of Borrower-sized folks lives
in the little house on top of this La Maison Inondée
bowl, designed by New York lad Patrick Martinez.
Every time it’s filled with cereal and a waterfall of milk,
or a cascade of salty mixed nuts, they’d wonder at the
benevolent deity who always giveth, and the gluttonous
giant who taketh away. (And with a bit of luck they’d
manage to evacuate before their house is plunged into
the dishwasher.) The bowl can be found for around $
at comingsoonnewyork.com, if you dig it. If not, spare a
thought for the pint-sized chums inside who are about to
go very hungry. That sure would be a shame.

Stationery and design lovers:
clapyour peepers on this
doozyof a desk organiser
fromJapanese brand i ro se,
akabrothers Gen and Dai
Takahashi. It folds in and
outlike a swish leather
accordion, just waiting for
youtoshove rulers, scissors

pleats. It also folds down
flatwhen you’re not using
it,which is really rather
efficient, don’t you think?

dollydoctor
Ah, Dolly Parton. The
fount of wisdom who
famously uttered words
like, “If you want the
rainbow, you gotta put
up with the rain,” and
“If you don’t like the road
you’re walking, start
paving another one.”
Who else would we turn
to for life advice than the
big-hair-sporting, lady-
empowering country
music icon? No one,
that’s who. Which is why
we think this enamel
pin from GAYPIN’ is
the bee’s knees. Find
it for around $17 at

vege threads

If the idea of stylish trackie-dacks
makes your heart beat a little bit
faster (and why wouldn’t it), you
may wish to turn your attention
to these snuggly leg covers from
Vege Threads. They come in
a bunch of chic colours like
mustard, khaki, navy and
chocolate brown, and are
made in Melbourne from
lightweight organic fleece.
Did we mention they’re
nice-looking enough
to wear out in public?
Because they are.
Bring on the cosiness.
