The race started with VNE Snipers rider Tony
Arbalino and Niccolò Antonelli of SIC58
Squadra Corse in the lead, scuffling it out with
each other. However, this being the Moto3
class and the rider position graphic at the side
changes every five seconds. Hence, soon the
two were joined by Honda Team Asia rider
Kaito Toba, VNE Snipers Romano Fenati, Leopard Racing’s
Lorenzo Dalla Porta, and the rest of the grid really.
With seven laps remaining, the Moto3 race in Assen threw
in a whole bunch of drama. It looked like Ramirez had an
incident with SKY Racing Team VR46 rider Celestino Vieti,
causing the latter to hit the tarmac and taking out the two
Japanese riders, Toba and Tatsuki Suzuki of SIC58 Squadra
Corse, along with Raul Fernandez of Sama Qatar Angel Nieto
Team ending their race.
At the lead now was the championship leader, Dalla Porta,
but he did not have things his way either as a rampaging Jakub
Kornfeil of Redox PruestelGP fought him and took the lead.
Just then Kornfeil was given a long lap penalty for cutting a
chicane which did seem a bit harsh. That caused him to drop
back to third place where he finally finished the race. The win
was taken by Tony Arbolino and Dalla Porta took the second
spot on the podium

Marquez dominance and hunted down
the Spaniard with vigour. The two
fought defended line and out-drove each
other from corner to corner until the
second to last lap. Here Marquez ran a
bit wide, Baldassarri saw his opening
and went for it. Did it work?
No. Unfortunately for both riders,
Baldassarri lost traction on the front tyre,
causing him to slide out and take
Marquez with him for company.
Baldassarri’s teammate, Augusto
Fernandez, who was in a battle all that
while for third with Binder and Sky
Racing Team VR46 rider Luca Marini,
came out on top and won the race due to
the mishap. He was followed by Binder
and Marini, who scored second and
third positions respectively.
Alex Marquez was livid; however,
he did kind of make up with Baldassarri
when the latter went up to him in the

Remy Gardner of the ONEXOX TKKR SAG Team was the
pole-setter in Assen and was joined by Brad Binder on the Red
Bull KTM Ajo and Xavi Vierge on the Marc VDS Kalex. Alex
Marquez on the other Marc VDS Kalex, who has been having a
brilliant season, started on the second row in fourth place as the
lights went out.
The South African, Binder, got off to a great start vying for the
lead and finally holding on to said lead for most of the race. But
the inevitable happed with a charge from the younger Marquez
and soon Alex had found his rhythm and looked primed for yet
another victory of the season.
