Gran missing
for four days
A GRANDMOTHER who
had been missing for four
days during storms has
been found in woodland.
Janice Warren, 71, was
discovered near Bream
Rugby Club, Gloucester-
shire, on Saturday after a
massive search operation.
The team from Severn
Area Rescue Association
were “delighted that she
had been found alive”.
‘Little chance
for river boy’
A SIX-year-old who
vanished on a fishing trip
with his dad is “unlikely” to
be alive, police have said.
Lucas Dobson fell off a
jetty into the River Stour at
Sandwich, Kent, on
Saturday while trying to
climb into a boat.
Dad Nathan, 35, dived in
with two pals but failed to
find the lad, from nearby
Deal, in “strong currents”.
MORE SUGAR IN CHOC
BARS NOW.. NOT LESS
been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes has
increased by nearly 50% in five years, the
findings suggest.
Cadbury Fudge rose from 50% sugar
to 65%, its Fruit and Nut rose from 32%
to 54.5% while Nestle’s Yorkie Raisin &
Biscuit bar went from 53% to 58%.
It is thought one of the reasons is the
soaring price of cocoa. Replacing it with
sugar is a way to protect profit.
Many brands have pledged to cut
sugar – often by reducing product size.
Kate Halliwell, of the Food and Drink
Federation, said the 23 products studied
were not representative of the industry.
She added: “For two decades
confectionery companies have been
reducing salt, fat and sugars.”

controversial kiss
with Seann Walsh
STRICTLY Come Dancing couple Neil and
Katya Jones will both get celeb partners
this year – despite last year’s love scandal.
The couple announced yesterday that
they were ending their marriage, 10 months
after she was caught kissing her celebrity
partner Seann Walsh in the street.
But the Russian dancer will stay as one
of the main Strictly professionals.
And Neil is also expected to be paired
with a female celeb for the first time since
joining the show as a group dancer in 2016.
Their separation comes just two months
after they performed a show about how
they fell for each other, described as a
“complicated modern love story”, at
London’s Sadler’s Wells theatre.
Yesterday they said: “We will always love
each other, in a different way as friends.”
A spokeswoman said the split was not
down to Walsh. She said: “It would be unfair
to attribute it to one isolated incident.”

SUGAR levels in popular chocolate
bars have soared – despite promises
to slash them to fight obesity.
On average, Cadbury and Nestle have
increased sugar by more than 10% since
1992, researchers found.
The average content stood at 44.6%
per 100g 27 years ago.
But by 2017 this had hit 54.7%, say
researchers from Queen Mary
University of London.
The Government has
called on manufacturers to
reduce sugar in chocolate
20% by next year.
