with the Far Cry: New Dawn.
FarCry:NewDawnissetinthe
sameworldofFarCry5,however,it
fast forwards 17 years, showing
what Hope County looks like after
an apocalypse. Unlike many post-
apocalyptic games that are grim in
visuals, the New Dawn’s super
bloommakesthefictionalcounty
look gorgeous with luscious
vegetation (and lots of pink
flowers!), overpopulated wildlife
along with dilapidated buildings
encapsulate the aftermath of the
nuclear attack.U
The one thing that remains the
same is human civilisation. They
are still fighting with wildlife and
otherhumans,whichinthiscase,
are the Highwaymen who control
mostoftheHopeCountyanditis
yourjob,anamelesscaptaintotake
it back for the survivors.
The Highwaymen are the headed
bythetwins-MickeyandLoubut
the antagonist duo do not create an
impactlikehowVaas,PaganMinor
evenJosephSeeddidinthe
previous Far Cry instalments.
However, keeping this
apocalyptic setting aside, you’ve got
a familiar Far Cry game you have
played before. It involves a lot of
shooting, capturing outposts,
upgrading arsenal and eventually
finishoffthemainantagonists.

nice touch but except for the Saw
Launcher and few other weapons
thathaveavisualupgrade,weFar Cry New Dawn

exciting. There are, however, several
weapons to choose from.
Ubisoft has also brought changes
to the gameplay by adding RPG
elements. For instance, weapons
and enemies are now rank-based.
This means, killing a higher-ranked
enemy takes more bullets with a
lower class weapon. This is also one
reason the game starts from the
bottom of the map and you have to
continue your way up as to avoid
confrontation with stronger
enemies. Good thing is that you can
take on those enemies by crafting
better weapons by collecting
resources scattered throughout the
map, loot Highwaymen’s supply
drop or just capture an outpost. The
game also allows outpost escalations
that allow capturing the same
outpost for better rewards.
