15At this point it’s time to install the six-rib
serpentine drive belt, as shown. Using a
3/8-inch ratchet (or breaker bar) on the
tensioner will let the new belt slide over
the crank pulley.
16Each Chevrolet Performance front dress
is fitted with the time-proven ACDelco
“canned ham” power steering pump (PN
19319858), which is very popular and
super reliable. There’s the high-pressure
side and the low-pressure return side. The
high-pressure side sports a connection
for the high pressure hose. The low-
pressure return side takes a power
steering fluid compatible hose, which
brings fluid back to the pump reservoir.

affordable and reliable
serpentine drive system
that will help you ditch the
problematic V-belt system
that most of these small-
blocks came with from the
factory. And, since this kit uses
OE components from GM,
replacement parts are easy to
find if needed down the road.18
