EMPORIO ARMANIThere is No Doubt about it: after six years
away, Gwen Stefani’s return to the Met Ball in
custom Moschino marked the bold, flamboyant
homecoming of our favourite Noughties pop
princess to the fashion scene. Homage was paid
to this Harajuku Girl in the Autumn/Winter
collections and the new season is vintage Gwen,
all fairy-tale frills, hyper-exaggerated flounces
alongside pastel hues and sorbet shades for a
touch of whimsy: altogether a sweet escape to
simpler times. Look too to Marc Jacobs, where
an OTT pleated babydoll number is the stuff
of dressing-up box dreams, or Dolce & Gabbana’s
fur-trimmed pink cape for total slumber-party
perfection. This season it’s about fulfilling your
fancy-dress fantasies à la Gwen Stefani. What
are you waiting for?58 Tatler September 2019 tatler.comTasmin Fischer
