Fence Wrap
MATERIALS
- Decorative
wire fencing - Tall terra-cotta pot
- Bolt cutter
- 16– or 18–gauge wire
HOW-TO
Cut fencing to a length
sufficient to wrap around
the pot. Trim the bottom
edge to suit the height of the
pot, if needed. Attach ends
of fencing with small sections
of wire, twisting to fasten.
Cracker Box
Birdhouse
MATERIALS
- Vintage metal box
- Scrap wood
- Drill
- Drill bits: 1½-inch
hole bit and ½-inch bit - 1¼-inch metal birdhouse
hole protector
with screws - 2 D-ring hangers with
nuts and bolts to fit
HOW-TO
Fit wood scraps into the
box to fill it while drilling (we
used two 12-inch sections of
2×4 lumber). Cut an entry hole
into the front of the box with the
hole bit. Drill at least four ½-inch holes
for ventilation in the bottom and the
back of the box. Remove the wood
and discard. Attach the birdhouse hole
protector. Secure hangers on the back
of the box with nuts and bolts.

MATERIALS
- Drill and 1-inch
hole bit - 12-inch lengths
of metal downspout - Solar outdoor
stake lights
HOW-TO
Drill 1-inch holes 3 inches
from the top edge of a length
of downspout; press into the soil
to anchor. Insert solar stake light.
