by making them party leaders. Political parties give
incentives if a student brings a large number of votes
in favour of their party, their political party will give
them money and other facilities. Students fall into this
trap because of their greed and make political friends in
school/college. They threaten others by various means
like ragging. They don’t bother about their studies. They
misuse the money of their parents and waste time. In
my opinion, students should not take part in
politics.

Politics is a process by which decisions are taken in
the interest of people. It can be of two types, i.e., good
politics and dirty politics. Dirty politics has a very bad
influence on students in different educational institutions.
There are many meritorious students who deserve to
get admission in various prestigious colleges but cannot
do so because some politically powerful and financially
influential people buy those college seats. Youths get
attracted to many political unions which are positioned
in their institutions. Those politically privileged students
interfere in different college matters regarding date of
examination, types of question papers, percentage of final
examinations pass out, etc. The students who complain
about such issues are either harassed or blackmailed.
Such students have no option other than committing
suicide, or withdrawing their names from their respective
institutions. Young minds can be easily manipulated
and the politicians take advantage of this. So, it is highly
advisable to ban politics from educational
institutions.

Politics should be banned from educational institutions.
Our political parties have destroyed our country
and now are bent on misguiding our youth. The
present scenario of education in our country is getting
deteriorated due to the political pressures because
of which frustration is common among students.
Students supported by a political party have the
tendency to dominate others. This attitude spoils the
whole decorum of the educational institutions. It also
creates discrimination among students when
some students are given more attention in
comparison to others.

I feel politics should be included in the curriculum
as the students should know that what is happening
in the country is politically correct or not. Earlier, we
had a very basic overview of politics, but I think a
little more depth would have helped us adapt to the
current situation in the country. Apart from politics in
curriculum, I am against the interference of any
political party in any educational institute.

I think politics should be banned from educational
institutions because they are established mainly for
imparting education. When politics enters academics,
education takes a backseat and students become
embroiled in issues that should have no place in the
campus. The institutes are transformed into proxy
battlefields, where students are expected to choose sides,
and violence becomes a tool to settle long-standing
scores. If we wish to maintain the dignity of educational
institutions, we need to weed out political
goons and politics from these institutions.
Palakshi Kalra (12)

Politics in educational institutions is not desirable
according to me, because the younger generation can
easily fall into the traps of fake promises made by
politicians, and start doing illegal trade or even bully
others. Worst cases are when they start riots in the
name of religion, caste, creed or culture. For anybody
who wants to enter politics or contribute towards the
betterment of the nation by entering the system must
do so by themselves and ensure that whatever they do
doesn’t have an adverse effect on other people’s study
and life.

There are few Indian colleges that make it to the list of
top 100 world class educational institutions. Student
politics is one of the reasons behind it. Students
become aggressive and fights occur in institutions.
Due to this hooliganism, the very environment gets
disturbed and other students are affected. Instead
of playing politics, politics should be taught to help
students understand the system of good
governance.
