models,theAFontheGFX 100 is stillfastand
responsiveandquickerthantheothertwo
GFXmodels.ContinuousAFis improvedtoo
andwhileit'snotsuitableforserioussports
use,it cantracksubjectsthataren't moving
tooquicklyorerratically. WhiletheEye/Face
AFworkswellat times,thereareoccasions
whereit focusesonthewrongspot,so
needs tobe usedwithcase,in particular
whenshootingat verywide apertures.
Thecamerasportsa strongrange ofports
to connect accessories. Along with a


microphoneandheadphonesockets,there
is apowersocket,HDMIandUSB-C

left-side.Ontherightarea remotesocket
anddualSD cardslot.Asyou'dexpect,Wi-Fi

TheGFX 100 's multi-zonemeteringand
WhiteBalancesystemsbothprovetobe
consistentlygood,soexposuresandcolour
balancearerarelyoff. Thesensor'sexcellent
dynamic range meanspoorexposurescan
be pulledbackwhenediting, especially from
Rawfiles.Imagequality,asyou'dexpect,is
farbetterthanyou'llfindonsmallersensors,
withincrediblyhigh levelsofdetailrecorded
andsuper-smoothtonalgradation. Noise is
extremelywellcontrolledtoo,withshotsat
ISO 6400 provingmorethanusable.Whenit
comestoimage quality,itdeliverstoa
differentlevelcomparedtothebestthat the
likesofCanon, Nikon andSony havetooffer.

Notmanyphotographers
needa camerawithsuchahigh
resolution,butforthosewhodo,
theFujifilmGFX 100 hitsthespot.It
hassomehandlingniggles,mainly centred
around the vertical grip, but is a camera
thatdeliversincredibleimagequality.With
a goodline-upoflensesboastingexcellent
optics,it representsa fantasticoption for
use inthestudioandoutdoors.

THE GFX SYSTEM


Along with the GFX 100, the range includes the
(£4,649) GFX 50S and (£3,449) GFX 50R. Both
offer a resolution of 51.4-megapixels, with the
key differences being their design – the GFX 50S
is similar to a large X-Series model, while the
GFX 50R has a rangefinder style design. All use
the G Mount, which has a diameter of 65mm.
The system currently offers eight GF lenses,
teleconverter and accessories. Below is a list of
optics (the 35mm equivalent focal length in
shown in brackets).
