5th//Mike Grady & Dustin Buescher//MiG-
Built by Mike from the BVM kit, this 1/6-scale jet is powered
by an electric VioFan ducted fan. It earned 94.417 static
points, and Dustin fl ew the MiG-15 using a Spektrum DX
radio to earn a total of 190.242 points.

7th//Walt Wosko Jr. & Ralph Rinaldi//SNJ-5C Texan
Powered by a G62 gas engine, this 1/5-scale, 101-inch-span
model of the classic advanced trainer weighs 36 pounds and
was built from a Yellow Aircraft kit. Th e Texan earned 94.
static points, and Ralph fl ew it using a Spektrum DX20 to earn
a total 183.658 points.


8th//Mike Winter & Frankie Mirandes//
de Havilland DH.88 Tiger Moth
Built from Mike’s own plans, this 1/4-scale, 86-inch-span model
is powered by a Zenoah G38 gas engine spinning a Xoar 20x
prop. Th e static judges awarded the Tiger Moth 93.917 points,
and Frankie fl ew it using a Jeti 24 radio to score 183.492 points.

9th//Jeff Pike & Steve Eagle//Stinson SR-
Th is 1/5-scale, 108-inch-span model is powered by
an O.S. 160 twin engine. Build from the Top Flite kit,
the Stinson SR-10 earned the team 93.750 points,
and Steve fl ew it using an Airtronics radio to earn
180.550 total points.

10th//Jordan Hall Peterson & Larry Peterson//
Canadair CL-
Powered by a Behotec 220 turbine engine, this model
of the Canadian version of the F-86 Sabre jet is 117
inches long. Jordan built the model from the Tomahawk
Aviation kit and earned 95.083 static points, and her
husband, Larry, fl ew the CL-13 using a Futaba 18SZ to a
total score of 142.608 points.

6th//Bob Rullie & Mitch Buckley//
Grumman F9F-7 Cougar
Built by Bob from an Airworld kit, the Cougar is powered by a
JetCat P160 turbine and has an 85-inch span. It earned 93.
points and has working fl aps, speed brakes, and a sliding canopy;
it weighs 39 pounds dry. Mitch fl ew the Cougar with a JR 12X
radio to earn a total of 188.433 points.
