FLUID POSING
The results of
stroboscopic flash can
be unpredictable, so
experiment with poses.
Try having your subject
move from one side to
another, or ask her to
keep her body still and
move her arms. Fluid
motion works best, as
the flashes are more
evenly spaced out.

TRIAL AND
ERROR
A shoot like this involves
problem-solving and
messy misfires. It’s
about finding harmony
between the number
of flashes, the posing,
and the positioning
of the lights. Often,
things can look too busy,
so  experiment with the
number of flashes, too.

FLASH POWER
The more flashes
there are per second,
the lower the flash
power. Higher Hz and
flash counts mean lower
output, so you may
need to bring the flash
in closer or adjust your
exposure. If things look
too dark, increase your
ISO setting or open up
the aperture.
