SELECT THE SKY
Open both the start
images, then go to Select

Select And Mask. With
the Quick Selection
tool, paint over the sky
to select it, then grab
the Refine Radius tool
and paint over any gaps
between the buildings to
grab the extra bits of the
sky showing through.
Choose Output to:
Selection and click OK.

02

MAKE A MASK
Click the Add
Layer Mask icon in the
Layers panel to convert
the selection to a Layer
Mask. Anywhere outside
the selected area will
be hidden. This hides
the land, revealing only
the sky. You want the
opposite, so you can
press Cmd/Ctrl+I to
invert the Layer Mask
and hide the sky instead.

03

DROP IN THE SKY
Go to the new sky
image, then grab the
Move tool. Drag the sky
up to the tab of the other
image, then down and
in to copy the sky over.
It’ll appear in the Layers
panel on a new layer. Go
to the Layers panel and
drag the sky layer below
the other layer so that it
sits behind the layer with
the cityscape.
