What
happens
in Vegas...
Hollywood star Geena Davis heads to
Sin City to star in wrestling hit GLOW
B
race yourselves for
another round of glitter
and grappling as we
return to the glamorous
world of female wrestling for
a third season of Netflix’s hit
1980s nostalgia-fest, GLOW.
The comedy drama has an
extra treat up its sleeve, too, as
Thelma & Louise legend Geena
Davis is a recurring guest star!
Telling the fictionalised
story of the Gorgeous Ladies of
Wrestling (GLOW), a real-life
1980s women’s professional
wrestling circuit, we rejoin the
group for their Las Vegas shows.
Oscar winner Geena plays
charismatic Sandy Devereaux
St Clair, a former showgirl-
turned-entertainment director
at the Fan-Tan Hotel and Casino.
‘It was such fun!’ says Geena,
- ‘I adore that show and all the
amazing women on it – behind
and in front of the camera!’
Geena appears in five of the
10 new episodes, and the cast
admit they were star-struck!
‘Having her on the set was
amazing,’ says British star Kate
Nash, 32, who plays Rhonda
‘Britannica’ Richardson. ‘We’d
all sit together and then Geena
Davis would be there, learning
how to flip a card or roll dice!’
Kate promises fans that the
best is still to come in the new
series, which is set in Las Vegas
but still filmed in Los Angeles.
‘There’s some really
groundbreaking TV in our
show this season – there’s so
much happening for lots of
different characters,’ she says.
Safe to say there’s more drama
ahead as the group realise that
Sin City is more grind than glitz.
‘This season feels unlike
anything we’ve shot before,’
says Alison Brie, 36, aka Ruth
‘Zoya the Destroya’ Wilder. ‘All
of our characters are trying on
different versions of themselves,
and embracing the themes of
Las Vegas – you know, what
happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.
It feels like there are no rules...’
