wrap the cheekpiece, pistol grip,
foregrip and buttplate. A button on
the buttplate releases the hinged,
ambidextrous cheekpiece to reveal
a built-in structure where an op-
tional crank cocking device can be
mounted. A Retractable Underarm
Counterbalance Support (RUCS)
under the stock pulls out for added
control.
The pass-through foregrip mounts
directly to the built-in Picatinny rail
and has a set of safety wings an-
chored to the rail above it, remind-
ing shooters to keep their fingers
below the flight deck. Like the riser
and limbs, the stock is also finished
in Mossy Oak Original Treestand.
The trigger housing, mounted at
the back of the rail, is home to safety
controls/mechanisms, a string latch,
Soft Lok Floating Bristle arrow re-
tainer and scope-mounting rail. The
TriggerTech trigger uses Friction-
less Release Technology driven by a
free-floating roller between the sear
and trigger to produce a smoother,
lighter trigger pull with zero creep.
There’s also an auto-engaging trig-
ger safety and resetting nock sensor
that won’t allow the crossbow to be
fired without a bolt in position.What’s in the Box?
Included with the HyperGhost
425 are three 22-inch Hyperflite
bolts with the R.O.C. Insert System;
a speed-calibrated 1.5-5x32 multi-
reticle illuminated scope; rope cock-
ing sled; side-mount, quick-detach
quiver; lubrication wax; and an
owner’s manual.At the Range
The Barnett HyperGhost 425 of-
fers hunters excellent control and
comfort via its AVI TPE-wrapped
buttplate, cheekpiece, pistol grip
and foregrip. This crossbow balanc-
es perfectly with one hand on the
foregrip, which is a testament to the
effectiveness of the Carbonlite riser
design on this relatively long rig. A
three-shot group that measures only
.375-inch at 35 yards is impressive.
The trigger pull was crisp, with no
detectable creep. The HyperGhost
