Unpack and relax! This idyllic stone house in a
small Charente village is beautiful inside and
out with two spacious ensuite bedrooms,
elegant lounge, utility room and large
kitchen-diner opening onto pretty gardens
with a garage/workshop and off-street
parking, all for €89,380. The market town of
Villefagnan is just a few minutes’ drive away.

I

would like to thank you for the continuing
articles in each month’s edition of French
Property News. Having been a subscriber for
well over 15 years, I have never been
disappointed in the quality and diversity of the
subjects selected for your articles.
One suggestion I might offer is to include a
wider focus on smaller properties, particularly
apartments. As a single person I am surely not
alone in being interested in smaller dwellings as
opposed to larger homes with substantial
property holdings.
I am not seeking to move from my apartment
in Nice – on the contrary, it suits me perfectly in
terms of size and location. When I say that I would
like to see more of such properties included in
the magazine, it would be personally out of
interest, and in thinking
that surely there are quite
a number of potential
homebuyers who might
also like an apartment as
opposed to a house.
Seeing what is available
in larger cities is
interesting as a
comparison with what is in
Nice. If I were to move
from my current “abode”, it
would be to another
apartment in the same
quartier in Nice, but at a
higher level than the third
floor. Also, I would be sure I
had a south-facing terrace/
balcony. I would not look
elsewhere than Nice – I

purchased my home in 2004 and have
enjoyed every minute that I have spent
there since. The city is lovely, very alive,
yet of a size that is manageable,
walkable, and down-to-earth.
I’m not sure readers will be interested
in such biased comments! What I’ve
shared are only my personal views,
but they are supported by regular
extended stays over the last 15 years.
