1 ) Use a pencil to mark a diagonal line
on wrong side of each print and floral
27 ∕ 8 " square. (To prevent fabric from
stretching as you draw lines, place
220-grit sandpaper under each square.)

2 ) Layer a marked pink print square atop a
solid blue 2^7 ∕ 8 " square. Sew together with
two seams, stitching^1 ∕ 4 " on each side of
drawn line (Diagram 1). Cut pair apart
on drawn line. Press open to make two
pink-print-and-blue triangle-squares.
Each triangle-square should be 2^1 ∕ 2 " square
including seam allowances. Repeat to
make four pink-print-and-blue triangle-
squares total.

3 ) Repeat Step 2 with remaining marked
print and floral squares and blue, red, yellow,
and green solid 2^7 ∕ 8 " squares to make two
white-floral-and-blue triangle-squares, four
pink-print-and-red triangle-squares, two
white-floral-and-red triangle-squares, two
blue-floral-and-yellow triangle-squares, four
white-print-and-yellow triangle-squares,
two blue-floral-and-green, four white-
print-and-green triangle-squares, two teal-
floral-and-green triangle-squares, two
teal-floral-and-yellow triangle-squares, two
yellow-floral-and-red triangle-squares, and
two yellow-floral-and-blue triangle-squares.

4 ) Referring to Diagram 2, lay out eight pink
print 2^1 ∕ 2 " squares, six white floral
21 ∕ 2 " squares, two pink-print-and-blue
triangle-squares, three solid blue 2^1 ∕ 2 × 41 ∕ 2 "
rectangles, two white-floral-and-blue
triangle-squares, one solid blue 2^1 ∕ 2 " square,
two pink-print-and-red triangle-squares,
two white-floral-and-red triangle-squares,
three solid red 2^1 ∕ 2 × 41 ∕ 2 " rectangles, and
one solid red 2^1 ∕ 2 " square in six rows. Sew
together pieces in rows. Join pieces in rows

2 and 3, then join pieces in rows 4 and 5.

Join rows to make block. The block should

be 12^1 ∕ 2 " square including seam allowances.

5 ) Referring to Diagram 3 for color

placement, repeat Step 4 to make one block

with solid yellow and solid green rings with

blue floral and white print 2^1 ∕ 2 " squares,

one block with solid green and solid yellow

rings with teal floral and white print

21 ∕ 2 " squares, and one block with solid blue

and solid red rings with pink print and

yellow floral 2^1 ∕ 2 " squares.

ASSEMBLE QUILT TOP

1 ) Referring to Diagram 4, lay out eight pink

print and eight white floral 2^1 ∕ 2 " squares

in two rows. Sew together pieces in

rows. Join rows to make long side unit.

The unit should be 4^1 ∕ 2 × 161 ∕ 2 " including

seam allowances.
