SHOOT WITH A PRO

13

JP’S COMMENT

After shooting a group of dishes, like
starters, mains or desserts, I like to
place them on the floor and shoot down. It is
disrespectful to use the floor, but I do it to get
the height to shoot directly from above. So
I’ll put one of my background rolls down, then place the plates
on it and use a step ladder to get even higher up and shoot.
This group shot of plates works well on a restaurant’s website
banner image or even in the menu.

BRING YOUR OWN

BACKGROUND

HAVING a good variety of backdrops
is key to making the portfolio of shots
look exciting and different from each
other for JP’s clients. At Widbrook
Grange we were spoilt for choice with a
copper topped bar and shabby chic
tables, but to freshen things up JP also
turned to his hard wearing Rusty
Nebula and Scratched Metal
backgrounds. These only cost
about £20 each from
