Happy

spring

O

nce again the talented designers of The World of Cross Stitching came to my inspirational
aid this year. My first project was Faby Reilly’s ‘Top Table Topiaries’ from issue 275 (Christmas
2018), which hooked me from the start. They were my lunchtime project at work and I put the
finishing touches on them during Easter. I then loved showing them off at Christmas!
The second project was for my 11-year-old cousin, who loves pandas. I turned to
my index to search for projects for her. Top of the list was Maria Diaz’s ‘In The Wild’
panda alphabet from issue 166. I was going to do her name on a
T-shirt but then I had the idea of making her a panda pillowcase
with her name on the banding. It was challenging but I think it
turned out pretty good!

Emily: Well Marisa, if your cousin loves pandas, be sure to
turn to page 68 for an adorable Valentine’s cutie-pie panda to
get busy with! Thank you for your letter and happy stitching.

M

y twin grandchildren love to stitch.
Here they are making a mat for
their mummy. My grandson is autistic and
stitching really helps him. They are now
progressing to aida and they even design
their own little stitching patterns!
Margaret Farrell, via email

Hannah: Well done, twins! We are always
cheered to know that cross stitch is being
enjoyed by all ages, and how interesting to
know that stitching particularly helps your
grandson, Margaret. Readers can look out
for children’s first cross-stitching sets from
most large crafting retailers.

21 (spring) was really
enjoyable as it was so full of
darling spring images. I’ve
already made three of them
from the gift package. I will
use these patterns for many
years to come. Thanks again!

Sue: Wow, your spring charts
have turned out beautifully,
Jenny. Well done!
