STEP 10
I completed the blouse, then rendered the arms and hands,
shadows, middle tones and highlights. Limiting detail on the
lower areas as I fi nished kept the emphasis on the face and scarf
in Cassandra in Black Beret (essense on panel, 14½x10½).STEP 9
I continued working on the scarf, keeping the shadows warm
and dark, and adding cool highlights. I brushed on the shadows
of the blouse with thinned blue and added shadows to the
right arm, slightly widening the shoulder.30 Artists Magazine April 2020
