A patent filed in the United States suggests
that Apple is exploring the possibility of
an iPhone that features a hinge mechanism
that prevents the types of unsightly creases that
rival manufacturers have been struggling to avoid.
“Apple has a long history of assessing technology and
only jumping into the market when it feels a particular
technology is mature enough or that it can use it in a
way that makes a meaningful difference to its products,”
analyst Ben Wood told BBC News. “There is little doubt
Apple has probably been assessing flexible displays for
years behind closed door.”

United States have been
treated to a brand-new
app, as Apple continues its battle
with Google to be the number one
personal mapping service. The app
has been redesigned from the ground
up to include new features like better
road coverage and pedestrian data,
more precise addresses and detailed
land cover. “We set out to create the
best and most private maps app on
the planet that is reflective of how
people explore the world today,”
says Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice
president of Internet Software
and Services. “It is an effort we are
deeply invested in and required that
we rebuild the map from the ground
up.” Eddie goes on to say that this
new version of Maps will be rolled
out across Europe later this year.
