Oddly, a blank Safari page can be viewed by entering the reading mode
and sometimes shutting Safari and reopening it works wonders too.

Safari may be causing blank
screens to appear

Clear website data
Scroll down the screen and you will see
a highlighted option called ‘Clear History and
Website Data’. Tapping this will cause you to
delete your history, cache and cookies.
5
Try another way
If you don’t want to delete your history,
you could try simply clearing your website data.
In this case, go to Safari>Advanced>Website
Data and tap ‘Remove All Website Data’.

Confirm your choice
Either way, you’ll be asked to confirm your
action. You can now return to Safari and load
the website again. If all goes to plan, the pages
should now display as normal.
Can an ad-blocker be to blame?
Adverts on websites can be mightily annoying
which is why many users have taken to using
ad-blockers. Trouble is, there is a chance that
they could be to blame for the blank webpages
you’re seeing so it’s worth turning them off to
see if that makes a difference. You can do this
within Safari by pressing the ‘AA’ button to the
left of the search bar and selecting ‘Turn Off
Content Blockers’. Turn them back on via the
same method.

Reach this page
You will need to navigate to this page
within the Settings app. Tap the option
for Safari and scroll right down to the
bottom and select ‘Advanced’. Then
tap ‘Experimental Features’.
Disable the lot
If you don’t think you will need
any of the experimental features
- and Safari will work perfectly
well without them – then you can
go down the list and disable them
all. Many have found this does
the trick.
Check the list
You are likely to find that many of
the experimental WebKit features
are enabled. One of them may
be causing the blank pages. You
could try deactivating them one-
by-one to see which is the issue.
