Step 5
I taped over all of the stained glass shapes.
It wasn’t necessary to be extremely careful
in painting around these shapes, since
they were covered with tape and could be
reshaped after the tape was trimmed. The
lead between the glass pieces will appear
nearly black and will cover any errors.
Step 6
I applied severallayersofdioxazinepurple
and finishedwithalayerofindanthrone
blue to color the lead separating the stained
glass shapes. I then removed the liquid
mask from the bottles and gently softened
the edges of the highlights using a little
water applied with a stiff-bristled brush.
Another option would be to use a dampened
Mr. Clean Eraser to diminish the hard lines.
Final
Finally, I removed the masking tape to reveal Sunrise Through My Window
(watercolor on paper, 31x22). WA

paintings juried into Watercolor Society of Oregon shows, as well as the
Western Federation of Watercolor Societies Exhibit, in which her
painting, Ladies in Red, won the Southern Arizona Watercolor Guild
