CANON EOS MIRRORLESS

New free cloud service to transfer and store your images

CANON’S NEW IMAGE.CANON

Canon Europe has announced the new
image.canon, a free service to enable
photographers and videographers to
transfer their files directly from their
Canon cameras to devices and web
services. Replacing the old Canon Image
Gateway from mid-March, it will be
available from early April 2020, and
this service will also include free cloud
storage automatically from compatible
Canon cameras.

Wi-Fi enabled Canon cameras will be
able to transfer files in their original
quality to a central hub, to then
seamlessly transfer to devices and web
services including Google Drive, Flickr
and YouTube, with Adobe and Google
compatibility planned for June 2020.
Also, image.canon enables auto
background transfer of your images
when the camera is connected to the
internet. However, only Canon cameras

released in 2020 will do this – which
currently means the Canon EOS-1D X
Mark III and new EOS 850D.
Designed with convenience in mind,
image.canon will also have dedicated PC
software that will allow photographers to
quickly download their shots from this
hub. Canon users will also be able to
easily sort images and experience
hassle-free sharing direct to their social
media channels or email contacts.

CANON EOS R5

CANON 100-500mm TELEPHOTO ZOOM + RF EXTENDERS

Pro mirrorless with 8K video, 20fps and IBIS!

2020 will see a total of nine new RF lenses!

CANON has announced development of the new
mirrorless EOS R5. This guns-blazing professional
camera will boast 8K video, 20 frames per second
continuous shooting, dual card slots and Canon’s first
ever in-body image stabilization (IBIS) system. Time will
tell, but we believe the R5 will have a 45-megapixel
sensor – making this a formidable tool for high-end
action, stills and video. Canon says the IBIS is. “a newly
Canon-developed, in-camera image stabilization
system – which works in combination with the lens
stabilisation system, making sure that whatever the
situation stills and video content captured is shake-
free.” The EOS R5 will officially be capable of shooting
continuously at 12fps using the mechanical shutter and
20fps electronically. Pricing and launch dates TBC.

IN CANON’S commitment to the EOS R
mirrorless system and RF Mount, it has
also announced the development of the
RF 100-500mm F4.5-7.1L IS USM, Extender
RF 1.4x and Extender RF 2x, plus Canon will
release five more RF lenses this year!
