again to add them to a
Gradients group. You can
create multiple gradients
and keep adding them to
your library as with all the
other asset options.
When you’re done, you
can click the Close button
to exit the Create from
Library dialog. Here’s what
our final Libraries panel
looks like.

USING LIBRARY ASSETS
After you’ve created your swatches and gradients, it’s time
to start using your new assets. You can click on any swatch
in the Color Themes section in the Libraries panel to make
that your Foreground color in the Toolbar. With an unlocked
layer active in the Layers panel, just click on a gradient in
the Libraries panel to add a clipped Gradient Fill layer. You
can then play with the blend modes in the Layers panel.
Now, for a more advanced technique, let’s use this gradi-
ent in a Gradient Map.

Step One: Double-click
the thumbnail of the
Gradient Fill layer in the
Layers panel to open the
Gradient Fill dialog, and
then click on the Gradient
thumbnail in the dialog to
open the Gradient Editor.

Step Two: Rename your gradient and click the New but-
ton, which will add this new gradient to the bottom of the
Presets list. Click OK to close the Gradient Editor, and then
click OK to close the Gradient Fill dialog.

Step Three: In the Layers panel, delete the Gradient Fill
layer. Click on the Create New Fill Layer icon (half-
black/half white circle) at the bottom of the Layers
panel and choose Gradient Map. In the Properties panel
(Window>Properties), click on the gradient preview strip
to open the Gradient Editor, select your custom gradient at
