White-breasted Waterhen
Binomial Name: Amaurornis phoenicurus
The White-breasted Waterhen is a well-known bird among the people of Bangladesh. Thisbird is the common resident bird of this country. They can be spotted singly or in pairs,
starting with a small pond in the backyard of a village home and in the marshes of the
forest in all of the country's divisions. Walks among aquatic weeds and eats food. Herfavourite foods are insects, larvae, snails, earthworms, seeds, and aquatic plants. They are
more active at dawn or dusk. Their breeding season is from June to October. They nest inbushes near water, on water hyacinths or in bamboo bushes.
